Review: This place put the hot into hotspot. Exploding onto the scene in summer 2008, The Kress is big celeb-courting space, and when we say big, we mean big. The Kress is four stories of club, covering some 38,000 square feet. There’s a restaurant with an Asian influence menu (overseen by Cher Troy N. Thompson), several bar areas, a basement night club and a rooftop terrace with superb panoramic views of Hollywood. The décor is opulent and over the top with an oriental edge, black, red and gold, ceiling dripping chandeliers. Understated it’s not. But then it’s not that kind of place.The Kress is indeed a hot spot and the cash starts going out as soon as you valet park in the back. It is more of a bar/hangout place than a dining spot, and the place to be is the rooftop bar and get in one of the booths and request bottle service. A must visit next time in Hollywood, and dress to impress- sloppy just does not cut it here.
